Component repair in a high-rise kitchen
Boards and sensors are the part of this trade that has grown fastest, and a downtown building adds two wrinkles to it. The first is power: towers cycle their supply for maintenance and generator tests, and integrated refrigeration does not always come back the way it went down, so we see units afterward with a dead interface, a stuck fan or an alarm that will not clear. The second is the loft conversions, where a modern integrated kitchen was fitted into an older building and the appliance ended up sharing a circuit with a wet bar or a run of undercabinet lighting. We read the fault code, then test the component it accuses, because a sensor that looks wrong is very often telling the truth about something happening elsewhere in the cabinet.

Read us that, plus whatever the display is showing and what the appliance did in the minutes before it quit, and there is a real chance the correct part rides up the elevator with the technician on the first trip. In a building where a second visit means booking the service elevator again, that is worth the two minutes.
